Drinking Games
Standard Quarters
Supplies:
- 1 Quarter
- 1 Shot Glass or other glass
- 1 flat surface
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 or more
Objective:
Bounce the quarter off of the table into the shot glass
Rules:
The drinker bouncing the quarter (the shooter) tries to bounce the quarter off the table, into the shot glass. Drinkers take turns shooting, generally going counterclockwise. If the shooter makes the quarter into the glass, the shooter chooses another drinker to drink. The shooter keeps shooting until he misses.
If the shooter misses, the next drinker becomes the shooter. Sometimes, after a miss, the shooter can opt to play “chance”, which gives them another attempt. A successful “chance” shot means the shooter can continue shooting normally, but a miss results in a penalty drink.
Speed Quarters
Supplies:
- 2 Quarters
- 2 Shot Glasses
- 1 flat surface
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
4 or more
Objective:
Bounce the quarter off of the table into the shot glass before other drinkers do.
Rules:
Two drinkers on opposite sides of the table start with the shot glasses and quarters. Each player must attempt to successfully bounce their quarter into their shot glass as quickly as possible until he makes it. When the drinker successfully makes his quarter into the cup, he passes the quarter and the cup to the player on their right. If a shooter shoots the quarter into the cup on his first try, he may pass it to any player at the table except the player who is currently shooting the other quarter.
If a drinker ever has both quarters at the same time, then the player is the loser. This happens when the drinker is attempting to make a shot but isn’t able to make it before the player to his left makes a shot and stacks his own shot inside the loser’s shot glass. The loser is allowed one final shot, a rebuttal, into the stacked shot glass. If the loser misses, he must drink the main cup, usually a quarter-filled large cup. If the loser makes the final shot, then the drinker who made the shot has to finish the large cup. After the loser has completed drinking, the game continues with the loser deciding who starts with the quarters.
Baseball Quarters
Supplies:
- 1 Quarter
- 4 Shot Glasses
- 1 flat surface
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 or more
Objective:
Bounce the quarter off of the table into the shot glass before other drinkers do. Line up four glasses in a row, each one slightly taller than the previous one. The smallest one is a single, the second is a double and so on. Each made shot is a hit, while each miss is a strike. The game is played exactly like baseball and drinkers can play any number of innings.
Super Quarters
Supplies:
- 1 Quarter
- 4 Shot Glasses
- 1 flat surface
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 or more
Objective:
Bounce the quarter off of the table into the shot glass before other drinkers do. One large central glass is surrounded by one individual glass per player. The central glass is taller and narrower than the other drinkers’ glasses. When the quarter lands in an drinker’s glass, he drinks his beverage. When the quarter lands in the central glass, players race to drink their individual glasses. The last to finish must drink the entire central glass.
Beer Pong
Supplies:
- 2 ping pong balls
- 12 or 20 plastic cups
- 1 table
- 2 water cups
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 or 4
Objective:
Throw the ping pong balls into each of the opposing team’s cups.
Rules:
Players split into two teams of two and rack either 6 cups or 10 per team. Players attempt to shoot their ping pong ball into the opposing team’s cups. If the player makes a shot, the opposing team drinks the cup. If both players make their shot in one turn, the team gets the balls back to shoot again, otherwise the other team gets to shoot. If the shooter intentionally bounces their ball into an opponent’s cup, two cups are removed.
If the ball touches any surface, the defending team can play defense. Girls can attempt to blow the ball out of the cup if it is rimming around the cup. If the game ends with both teammates making a cup in a single turn, the game is over with no rebuttal. In six cup games, there is one rerack, while in the 10 cup games, there are two reracks.
Beer Pong With Paddles
Supplies:
- 2 ping pong balls
- 12 or 20 plastic cups
- 1 table
- 2 water cups
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 or 4
Objective:
This game is played just like beer pong, but instead of throwing balls, players attempt to hit the balls into the cup using ping pong paddles. Pong is played by trying to lob the ball into the cup. If the ball goes into the cup, the player has to drink the cup.
Flip Cup
Supplies:
- 1 plastic cup per person
- 1 flat surface
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 to unlimited
Objective:
Drink beer quickly and flip your cup before the other team does.
Rules:
Split into two even teams, with each player having a cup partially filled with beer. Each team lines up on one side of the table, facing the other team. One end of the table is designated at the starting end, while the other end is the anchor end. The first person taps their cup on the table, then the opponent’s cup, then the table again and then drinks. The first person chugs his beer as quickly as possible, then places it upright on the table. He then tries to flip it to land face down. As soon as he is successful, the next player tries to do the same. The first team to successfully drink and flip all of their cups wins. Some players eliminate one player from the losing and the last team with a player remaining wins.
Lance Armstrong
Supplies:
- 1 plastic cup per person, plus 12 plastic cups
- 1 table surface
Alcohol:
Beer
Drinkers:
2 to unlimited
Objective:
Combine beer pong and flip cup to allow more people to play
Rules:
Lance is a combination between flip cup and beer pong. Divide into two even teams of any number as long as they are even. Rack six cups on both ends of the table, just like beer pong. Also place one cup in front of each other drinker, just like flip cup. One player from team A starts with the one ping pong ball and attempts to shoot the ball into the opposing team’s (team B) cup. If the shooter (team A) makes the shot, the other team (team B) immediately has to drink the made cup as quickly as possible. At the same time, team A’s first player closest to the shooter immediately drinks his cup and attempts to flip it, just like flip cup.
As soon as the player from team B drinks the made cup, his team member closest to him drinks his cup and tries to flip it as quickly as possible. After the flippers flip their cup with success, the next person drinks and flips. If the shooter’s team successfully drinks and flips their cups first, the made cup is removed from the game, but if team B finishes the made cup and successfully drinks and flips all of their cups first, the cup stays in the game. To clarify, EVERYONE drinks whenever a cup is made.
Next, team B shoots and tries at team A’s cup and the above procedure is followed. After one turn as shooter and defender, everyone rotates a spot so that there is a new shooter and the shooter is now one of the flippers, so that everyone gets a chance to shoot. Why is it called Lance? Because it’s played with one ball.

President and Asshole
Supplies:
- Deck of Cards
Alcohol:
Beer, mixed drink
Drinkers:
3+
Objective:
Play all of your cards before the other players do.
Rules:
President and Asshole has many regional and local rules, but below are the standard rules to get your started. Feel free to modify them as much as you like.
For the first round, select one person as the dealer and deal all of the cards equally out to the players. The person with the four of clubs starts the game. The object is to use your cards to beat the last set of cards laid by the previous player.
Cards are ranked in order of magnitude, with aces high. For example, a five is beaten by any card higher than five, or any pair, triple or quad.
Threes are wild, meaning that if a player plays a pair of sevens, one 8 plus one 3 beats the pair of sevens.
Twos clear the board and end the rounds. The next round starts with the player who played the two laying any card in their hand.
If two cards or sets are played in a row, the next player is skipped and the skipped player has to drink. For example, if player A plays an 8, and the next player plays an 8 as well, then the next player loses his turn.
If all four of one rank (all of the 6s for example) are played consecutively, a social occurs and everyone takes a drink. Also, if a player has the final card or cards that complete a social in his hand, but it is not his turn, he may play the final card(s) to complete the social. The next round starts with the person who completed the social laying any card.
As stated above, the objective to play all of your cards. The first person to play all of his cards becomes the president, the second to finish, the vice president. The last player to finish becomes the asshole and the second to last becomes the vice-ass.
After the titles have been established, the president is entitled to make a rule that all players must follow for the next round, while it is the asshole’s responsibility to deal the cards and clean up the cards after each round.
The asshole may deal the cards in any manner he wishes and does not have to deal them evenly. While the asshole is dealing, he has complete control to tell other players to drink or perform different actions. As soon as the deal is over, this power passes to the president and the game proceeds as before.

Supplies:
- Deck of Cards
Alcohol:
Beer, mixed drink

Rules:

The person to his left guesses a card, ace through king (aces are low). If the guesser is correct, the dealer takes a drink. If he is wrong, the dealer tells the guesser if the card is higher or lower and the guesser guesses again. If he is wrong again, the guesser drinks and the next person is the guesser. If the dealer gets through 3 guessers without losing, the dealer passes the deck to the next person, who then becomes the dealer. The card is then placed face up on a flat surface so that the other players can see it. The game ends when all cards have been used.

Beer
Drinkers:
4-8
Objective:
Play the same card as the person before you to score points for your team.
Rules:
Players sit around a table and every other person is on a team together. The cards are all dealt out evenly to all of the players. The point of the game is to score the most points for your team. You score a point every time you lay the card of the same value as the person before you laid. Eights and Jacks are safe cards; you cannot score by placing a card on a safe card.
The team that is scored on performs a waterfall. After each point, the cards are cleared by the scoring team (be sure to keep track of each point for scoring purposes). The end of a period occurs when all the cards have been played. Just like regular hockey, there are three periods.
